"Hopefully she's home." Thorn said as he parked the car and reached for the door handle. "Come on, Bri."

"I'm coming..." Bridgette pulled the passenger side door open and stepped out. Her coat whipped back behind her with the wind, and she closed the door, looking across at the carrot top she was with. "She's not going to be happy."

"Nobody is happy right now." The Scorpion replied and moved around the car, looking at the house. "For a lady who runs an entire temple, you'd think she'd live in something a bit bigger."

"Not in China." Bridgette chuckled, and moved to Thorn's side, starting off the street. "Besides, this isn't the house per se. She can live in it if she wants, but it doubles as a sort of souvenier shop..."

"Oh." McGown grinned lamely, and glanced around them again. then he set one hand down on the girl's cloth-covered shoulder. "I suppose that makes sense. She has to get income from somewhere..."

"She gets it from a few sources, but this does bring in a good sized chunk of it, yes." Bridgette glanced over at his hand, then started walking for the sidewalk. "Look. When you find where they took him--"

"We'll get him out, Bri."

"I'm coming along."

"No." Thorn said bluntly.

Bridgette stopped, her boots on the sidewalk, and turned her head to glare up at him. "Oh yes I am. I'm not one of your men, you can't order me around, and that's--"

"You are Matthew's daughter, and you've been in my house enough over the years that I can, and I WILL, Bridgette." Thorn retorted, meeting the girl's glower with an even look of his own. "Your dad would kill me if I let you go marching in with us."

"He doesn't have a say this time!" The girl shot back, and shook her shoulder free. "I'm not sitting around to twiddle my thumbs. Even he knows I can handle myself..."

Thorn sighed.

"If you don't take me with you, I'll just stow away." The girl continued with a hard tone in her voice.

Thorn studied her for a moment, and then let out a second sigh, this one of resignation. "Alright." he said quietly. "But you will run with us, you will NOT separate.. and if you are going with us, that means you follow orders just like the rest of the squad. Am I clear? At the first hint of you not following an order, I will have Ghost 'port you right back out again. Do you understand me?"

"Perfectly." Bridgette replied, and started across the sidewalk, heading towards the steps that led up to the house's front door. "I can follow orders. You just aren't leaving me behind on this one. That's all."

"You'd better." Thorn replied in a tone that told the girl he meant business. Then he reached for the door and went to pull it open.

"Uh... I'd ring the bell or something, first..." Bridgette started to say, but broke off when Thorn got the door open and stepped inside.

"It's a public shop and--"

"And it's Chang. And she's got Michael with her. And she's smart enough to know something serious is going on if Dad left him with her." Bridgette reached to ring the bell.

"You're worrying a little TOO much, Bridgette." Thorn chuckled, and stepped inside...
