"She's definitely warrior material, Matthew." Shun made the comment as he headed up the narrow walk between the railing and the wall.

Matthew didn't look away from where the three kids were "playing" in the main portion of the training room. He just nodded slightly, raising a brow as Lei went tumbling away from the two boys and came back up swinging.

"You know, there was a time where I would have wanted to cry watching something like this." He remarked instead, left hand idly tapping against the hat he had resting on a knee. He'd been sitting on the metal floor against the wall since the little melee had started.

"We're wolves, Matthew. Even the pups are going to be naturally inclined to fight. Better to channel it and teach them when and why to do so than to let them run rampant, no?" Shun dropped to an easy crouch to the big American's side and looked through the glass.

"True. But she's not."

"But she is." The big Apha chuckled and looked to the side at Matthew with a grin. "I've told you before- you and your family are pack now, like it or not." He smirked. "And she is definitely your daughter. She has the fighting spirit in her. Even your boy has that, as quiet as he normally is."

"Michael is no alpha personality." Matthew murmured, looking back out towards the kids. "Not by a long shot."

"Your boy is a switch, Matthew." The big Alpha retorted with a chuckle. "He's as submissive as little Jun-yin until something threatens him or his, and then he flies into full dominant. There's a reason I suggested having him train among the dominants AND the submissives. He needs to know how to use that dominance when the occassion calls him to do it."

"He's like my Dad was." Matthew shrugged. "Doesn't like to fight. Doesn't like to kill. Doesn't like to lead. But push the right button and he'll tear you apart. That's all."

And Shun just laughed. "And that, Keller... is the exact definition of a switch." When Matthew just stared at him, the slightly shorter man just flipped a blue-eyed grin back at him.

"....alright. Maybe you're right. But what has that got to do with this?" Matthew waved one gloved hand out towards where the three kids were rolling around on the fighting floor. In any other setting, those weapons and that armour would have been made of plastic, non-threatening materials. In this setting, though, the weaponry was simply a smaller version of the ones the pack adults used. And they were just as sharp as their adult sized counterparts.

"You know exactly what it has to do with it." Shun looked back out towards the kids. "Hao, watch your left, don't forget you have enemies on the sides, too!" He called towards the kids, and then looked back over at Matthew. "She might not have wolven DNA, Matthew, but she has the instinct to fight. You saw it when we brought her in, and you saw it when she went after our medical team in the infirmary. She's been raised to fight. If you take that away from her now, it's just going to surface in other areas where it wouldn't be acceptable. You're better off just letting her train with the kids her age. It would at least give her a good outlet for it and perhaps teach her a little bit better for when and where to do it."

Matthew just shook his head. "She's five. I think. About that, anyway..."

"And she damn near killed you in the kitchen in the beginning. Remember?" Shun countered pointedly, and then just chuckled as the girl ducked under the first swing of the boy in front of her and just canonballed right into the boy's legs, the clawed glove swinging up. "...and she's as tenacious and resourceful as any of our female pups." He laughed.

"......alright." Matthew looked back out there, watching the little miniature riot that passed as "playtime" for the wolfen children and shook his head. "Alright. I'll keep her in the training sessions, Shun. But you still need to make sure they're watching her. She's as sneaky as, well..."

"As you are." Shun retorted, and smirked. Matthew just chuckled at the comment, not even bothering to try and contest the point. "Good. She's going to train with the dominant pups, though. She's too strong a personality to train with the submissives. We may wind up moving her into the alpha group, but we'll see what happens. She's at least a Beta personality, Matthew."

"Yeah. She reminds me a bit of Bridgette sometimes." Matthew said quietly, and reached up to rub at his forehead. "Bridgette was always spunky.. even before everything unravelled around us. That just made her ruthless."

"Mmhmm. And Lei has been taught since she was born to BE ruthless, Matthew."

"Yeah, but it's only five years. She's still young, and--"

"And her personality is already firmly set." Shun chuckled and stood up, patting the big Marine on a cloth-covered shoulder. "Don't be so bullheaded about it. Better she have a proper outlet for that violent energy and better she be taught some discipline with it, than to have her just run wild around you. And if she isn't trained, she WILL run wild."

Matthew didn't argue that point, glancing over at Shun as he started to walk away. When the pack Alpha had disappeared through the doorway, he just turned his head back to watch the children.

So he caught her? How when she near killed him? Yeah i agree, better to give HER an outlet than let her run wild...
