((The lighting in this one gave me absolute FITS, especially the way the shadows landed on Shun's face. It makes his face look square and it annoys the heck out of me, but I couldn't seem to get the shadows to do what I wanted with his face... so it is what it is.. I gave up. I spent about three hours JUST fighting with the lights and got nowhere with it...))

China
The Wolfkin Den
Launching Bay D-2

Once Matt was down Shun turned, grabbed Matthew's gun and was just about to fire off several rounds into the spear weilder when he noticed Chang walking past him and into the fighting as if going for a stroll. The deadly calm about her sent chills up his spine. Something wasn't right; her scent wasn't just calm. It was altogether different and unfamiliar. "Chang!"

With her gaze locked on the one that had hurt her Matthew, the old woman either ignored or didn't hear Shun's call. She raised her hand casually in the direction of some fighter that was darting towards her. Shun's eyes widened when a bolt of electricity shot from her palm and just fried the fighter, leaving the scorched and smoking body still twitching as she passed it. The air around her began to swirl and dark, almost black, clouds formed over hear head. More lightning shot from the clouds and into the fighting, only striking the attackers and leaving the wolves alone.

The wolves for their part were backing out of the fighting and away from Chang as she moved deeper into the room and towards the doors that led out of the Den. They wanted no part of being in her way at the moment. The look in her eyes was not one any of them had ever witnessed before. She was furious.

Left and right, bodies were catching on fire, turning to stone and crumbling, exploding in blood, bone and gore, bleeding from every orifice, or just shrivling up and falling to the floor. Debris lifted from the ground and launched at the invasion force in the launch bay, shredding their armor as it swirled around each body.

And twice Chang reached out and physically drained the life right out of them. Her eyes went as black as Matthew's while he fed, and all around her were screams as people died. The more that died the more the wolves could scent her rage, and the farther they backed away from her with a myriad of surprise, shock, and 'oh, crap!' expressions on their faces. Never in all the years that they'd known the old lady had they seen her do something like this - or use anything even remotely resembling a mutant ability. And now she seemed to be unleashing everything she had right in front of them.

Chang continued to just walk and lifting one hand she just pointed at one of the black clad Troopers and then waved her hand. The target was lifted off the ground, then hurled into a wall. She waved her hand again and he was hurled into another wall... and once more she waved her hand and the body was flung back towards where Shun and Matt were..

"Feed him." was 'spoken' into the head of just about everyone in that room. And gentle as it was, the anger behind those two words in their heads was spine tingling. Chang was purposely leaving someof them alive but unconscious. Those that she left alive were being flung back towards Matt.

Matthew was still awake; he was shocky, very shocky, and his eyes had started to slide shut, only to be jerked back open again by the man's stubborness - but he was clawing at the ground and trying to turn to get a look at what was going on with Chang.

Shun moved to help Matt in his struggle to get to where he could see Chang. He got the man partially seated, leaning against his own armour. "Quit trying to move around, Matthew." He snapped at the Human, and then he motioned to another wolf tht was just standing there watching and guarding the Alpha and their fallen Beta. "You heard her! Get that lousy piece of dirt over here for him. Now!"

The Wolf gazed at his Alpha with a dazed look for a moment, and then he darted for the body and started dragging it over. He was pulling armor off and away from the unconscious enemy's skin as he went, so Matt could latch on.

Once the other Wolf had moved to obey, Shun just kept glancing between Matt and Chang with wide eyes. "Holy shit..."

Once everyone was dead and the ones outside had retreated... the old woman turned and looked at Matt. She took a few steps towards him and a misty blast shot out from her like a wave. Every Wolf and Scorpion it passed through had a sort of flash healing. It washed over them and reached just past where Shun and Matthew sat on the floor.

After that healing wave was dispatched, Chang's steps faltered and then her knees gave out. She crumbled to the floor and for a moment not one of the Wolves moved. Everyone just stared at the utter distruction that one angry little old woman had caused.

Perhaps there was a reason they hadn't known she was a mutant before... perhaps there was a very good reason that Chang did not let herself use her abilities normally. Looking around the room now, anyone with half a brain would be smart enough to know that they were staring at just that exact reason.

Shun couldn't move. Not with being the one that was holding Matt up. And as he scanned the room, he found himself repeating his earlier exclamation.

"Holy shit..."
